2 New Beverage Trends For Summer

What’s in Store for Beverages This Summer?

As the weather warms up, cocktails and mocktails will see increased consumption. In a departure from super sweet sangria or tequila sunrise, we will see more citrus flavors combined with botanical and spice flavors. This is thanks to the arrival of botanical functional ingredients that naturally impart bitter and floral notes.

Indulgent Flavors

While consumers went back to comfort foods and familiar flavors during the pandemic, they are now ready for something different and indulgent.

Take, for example, protein shakes, where many brands haven’t strayed from the traditional flavors of chocolate and vanilla. However, consumers are ready for bolder, more indulgent flavors. As brands in the protein drink space look to innovate, indulgent variations on the classics such as salted caramel vanilla, chocolate truffle, ‘smore, orange cream and other decadent combinations would be a great way to create a new twist on familiar flavors.

We are looking forward to attending a host of trade shows this summer and fall, and we imagine you are, too!  At WiseBev, we have a full library of flavor concepts and would welcome the opportunity to help your team showcase your innovative ingredients in beverage applications during upcoming shows.
